The stage is comprised of 4 different areas where the liveperformers can access either between, in front or behind projected imagerywhich creates an estonishing effect. The optical theater is designed to create an impressive interactionbetween the FREEJ characters and the live performers.
Freej Folklore expresses the pillars of Arabian History, traditions, heritage, values and culture through an entertaining and inspiringexperience. The show embarks theaudience in an immersive world of colour, light, music, dance, animation, andlive stage performances
The story is woven together by the journey of the famousFREEJ grandmothers who explore the many myths, legends and great tales ofArabia unfolding in front of them.
With over 50 animators working for 8 months for animatedsequences totaling to 19 minutes, the amount of attention to detail along withexperts/talent in animation resulted in some of the best animation yet be seenin the middle east. A whole newlook and feel of Freej was created for this show. It was our chance to really make the characters come tolife. From the bone structure, tothe rigging, texturing, lighting, physical weight and clothing dynamics, to thesquish and stretch programming of the characters, the result allowed us toanimated the characters in such a way that the production standard jumped to the highest level atpar with international standards. In double high definition format, the image clarity and animationcombined with the décor complemented the over all effect of the event bycatapulting the audience into a virtual world.
The concept was to achieve a sense of experience of what thefreej Theme Park was going to be. A reveal of a place that does not yet exist is something hard to grapsor understand and therefore a set up such as the one in this event was ideal inimmersing the audience into a space that gave the guest taken on the journeywith the grandmothers to discover and get a taste of the theme park.
The set up or stage design was based on applying newcombinations of art, technology production and live performance resulting in aunique form of presentation that people have never witness. With a 40 meter wide by 7 meter highprojects on multi layer screens, image projected in double High definition onfront and rear projection screens, and the combination of an optical theaterprojecting virtual imagery along with live performance created an environmentwhere the guests would experience on of the worlds best state of the artproductions.
The stage is comprised of 4 different areas where the liveperformaers can perform either between, in front or behind projected imagerywhich creates a great effect of surrealism. The optical theater was designed to create the illusion ofholographic animated characters to be on stage and interacting with real lifeperformers.
The design of the stage was wide enough to draw theattention of the guests from left to right to center stage, which allowed for avery interactive display of sequences and resulted in allowing for multilayerscreens to open and close at given points within the show which created thediversity of expereinece from a panoramic prohjection to a depth of image thatcreated the illusion of space.
This concept was designed specifically to immerse theaudience into a multidimensional space and in doing so allowed for thepresentation to showcase in many different manners all the zones of the themepark.
The initiative was to also showcase the blend of technologywith performing arts, music, visuals, animation and film. This enterntainment medium we chosegave the audience the closest feeling to what the Freej theme park would haveto offer to the visitors in 2013.
